ProductDyno + Amazon SES
integration explained…

Amazon SES

If you’re ready to integrate Amazon SES with ProductDyno, you’ll find the process really simple.

Check out this page with a tutorial for the full instructions:

By default, the transaction emails that ProductDyno sends (such as the “welcome” email) are sent from a ProductDyno address. However, you have the complete flexibility to have them appear to come from your own email server or provider.

One of those options is Amazon SES (Simple Email Service).

Like many of Amazon’s services, they aim to do just one thing, and do it well. Their Simple Email Service is no different. You’ll get the features you need to send out transactional emails, without any of the bloat.

Here are benefits of the service:

  • Little to no learning curve, since the service truly is simple and stripped down to the basics.
  • Pricing is simple, as there are no tiered plans. Instead, it’s flat rate based on the number of emails you send.
  • The Amazon SES team is dedicated to providing a high deliverability rate, and it’s probably higher than you’d be able to accomplish on your own.

Now the downside of using this sort of focused service is that there are features you might want, which you’ll need to handle yourself. For example, if you want analytics to track your opens, bounces and other metrics, you’ll need to handle that yourself. However, Amazon does have other services you can integrate to help you complete these sorts of tasks.
